Life on the Lake We are all aware of examples of the Trinity – the 3 parts of the whole. These include: Father, Son and Holy Ghost Mind, Body, Soul Length, Breadth, Height And now: Lake, Boat and Wave I want to use an analogy to show how Life may be working for us (I just came back here after describing what appears to be a new paradigm that I’ve never come across quite like this before – slight variation on a theme) Please read to the end. The setting is a very large peaceful lake with mountains and clear blue sky. It is peaceful and calm with no wind and no visible movement anywhere. Boats of all kinds are moored to the dock and some are at anchor off-shore. The lake is like a sheet of glass, reflecting the blue of the sky and the browns and greys of the mountains. As the morning sun climbs higher in the sky a light breeze begins to blow and the surface of the water shows signs of activity. No waves are breaking, but energy is in motion. The anchored boats begin to rock in the light breeze and their shape on the water creates ripples, extending out in all directions. Now that the water surface and the wind and the anchored boats have started their rhythmic dance, the boats tied up at the dock begin to join in, each creating its own pattern on the waters surface. Our attention turns to one of the boats in the lake as its anchor line begins to retract. The boat turns to face away from us and begins to pick up speed. As speed increases, a wake forms behind the boat and waves appear on both sides, moving in opposite direction, pure and clean and in harmony, like the two sides of atuning folk. As the boat retreats further into the distance, the waves continue to travel outward on their predefined paths, nothing stands in their way, until they hit the shoreline of the mountains. The white bubbly disturbance in the water behind the boat can also be seem long after the boat that created it has disappeared into the distance. Now, two more boats begin to move, one on either side of our field of view. While the first boat took a direct and unwavering course into the distance, these two boats appear to be much more inclined to move around at random and stay close to their original mooring sites. Completely different from each other in design, size and movement, they generate different disturbances on the surface of the lake. One is small and fast and agile, creating lots of commotion. The other is larger and slower but the waves from this boat appear to have greater power and stability as they move across the lake and interact with the waves from the smaller boat. Not only do they affect the other waves, they also disturb the path and stability of the other boat, as it tries to control its own motion. Within a short time, several boats from the dock have moved out onto the lake and are adding their own imprint to the surface of the water. Each boat is given their own space and no two boats come too close to each other. However, they are definitely interacting and influencing each other, through their effect on the lake. On the clear early morning lake, each of the boats would create its own unique and wonderful imprint on the surface of the deep. Given the boats design, its speed and condition of the lake, a boat always creates the same multifaceted response in the lake. Only when it is influenced by other aspects of the lakes existence will the boat change its creations attributes. The other way for it to vary its impact on the lake is to change itself, to change its own design characteristics. There is a boat on the lake that has been “upgraded” to include ski-surfaces that lift it out of the water as it increases its speed. The effect of this is to greatly reduce its impact on the water and use less fuel while still covering greater distances. Some of the larger boats have small rowing boats in tow behind them. This causes drag and distorts the waveforms from the big boat. As darkness comes back to the lake, the boats return to their resting places. Most use the same place each night but some choose to vary things a little. This is also a time when repairs and upgrades can best be made, even though it appears dark, there is always enough light to maintain a boat on the lake. So, John, what’s it all mean? Can’t you write shorter stories that are more obvious? The water represents Consciousness. There is only one of them (at least that relates to our three dimensional world). This is not a new idea, water is often equated to consciousness. The boats are individuated parts of God or Soul. Each boat design is the god self of a specific physical life-form, humanity for example. Each individual boat is a specific soul entity. The wave created by the boat moving across the surface of consciousness is the physical Expression of that specific individuation of God, the soul entity. The three parts are locked together to create an experience of consciousness. In a quiet state with no boats in motion, there are no waves created and the waters of consciousness appear still and lifeless, almost invisible, a shining mirror reflecting the life in other dimensions (the mountains and sky). For life to be created, movement is required. The boats need to become animated, but what makes that happen? Consciousness is the Creator! (Another recognised saying of today). But isn’t “God” the Creator? The boats have no drivers, they are remote controlled. So, who has the controls? God? Remember that God is the totality of all the boats on the lake, God is not the lake and the lake is not part of God. Consciousness was there before God J And God floats on the surface of Consciousness. Consciousness is quiet and all knowing but it wants to experience itself (this is what some people say about God, isn’t it?). Consciousness commands the boats to move and they begin to move, each after it own kind/design. The design of the boat determines how it should move and how it will react to the changing surface of the lake.
As the boats begin to move they express themselves perfectly. Consciousness was quiet and peaceful, so no outside influences were being felt. Waves were generated from Consciousness, by the movement of the individuations across its surface. Just as full Consciousness had the power to command the boats to move, so do the small waves of Consciousness, but not all of them are aware of this power. At the beginning, these waves are happy to be alive and enjoying their perfection, but as more and more boats respond to the command to move, the surface of the waters becomes chaotic and order appears to be braking down. Some waves begin to express their power to control their own boats and by so doing are able to make their own experiences much more enjoyable and harmonious, often at the expense of smaller and less aware expressions of God (waves created by boats). Now there becomes a kind of dance between the three connected powers. Consciousness is excited and alive and full of expression. The Waves are learning to control their creative selves but many lesser souls are being destroyed by the energy of the Waves on the surface of the water. Will the Waves become aware enough to unite and slow down their individual boats in an effort to bring some calm back to the lake, even if it means giving up so much of themselves. Will the full Consciousness of the lake take back control and force the boats to slow down and line up with each other. Can the boats take some kind of action of their own? As parts of God, are they helpless? I think I have just stumbled on a new paradigm for God. It’s not a new idea that we are in control of God and that we ask God to do things and “he” has to do them. It’s kind of the basic idea of summoning up Angels and Devils to do our bidding. However, it’s not the generally accepted model of religions, even though they have practiced sacrifice and worship in an effort to get God to do what they ask. Up to 5 minutes ago, I would have said the same as most Unity believers, that “we” are all part of God. Add everything together and we get “God”, the totality of all things. A better statement that I can still work with is that we are all Expressions of God. However, we can’t say that the total of all expressions of God, is God. All the waves on the lake are not God, they are Consciousness (lake in motion). The boats are God, God in motion. We are the waves. We are Consciousness and we have the power of Consciousness. We make the plans, we take control, we decide our direction and our future. This power was given to us, not by God, but by Consciousness. Ups, sorry God, I’m just re-reading this and felt that this was a little “over stated”. Without God we would not exist, this is for sure. The multiplicity of fractal designed boats, with math and geometry at their core, gives rise to millions of physical manifestations in our 3D world, but we are made out of consciousness (water), not soul (boat). When soul moves through consciousness it gives rise to us (and everything else). On the other hand, we are the expression of our boat in motion. Our boat is part of God. It follows all the laws of its design. Its design directly creates us as an expression of how we direct it. The boat has all the features a boat needs to be able to express boat-ness (or humanity, in our case). It does not need any help to do this, it was designed to fulfill this roll. However, it has no plans, no charts, no goals, no mission, it is simply a vessel waiting to be used. It was set in motion by the greater consciousness and it will continue in that direction until we (the wave) realize that we have the derived power to take control of the wheel and allow it to express its full potential as a boat. Once you stand up and begin to walk, the universe can bring you signs and maps that help you steer yourself in the right direction. We are the result of the expressions of our part of God and we are created out of Consciousness by Consciousness.
